Students at the Veeppamadu Arrahma Muslim Vidyalayam in Puttalam. Currently there are 955 students studying at this school. But this doesnot have a library and a science laboratory. And this school has notenough classrooms, toilets and drinking water. This school is going to start classes for the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) soon.

"I have three children to look after. My husband does some labourer job and earn daily. It is not enough to meet the day today expenses. ButI will not go back to Jaffna, because we have been chased away from there. And we are afraid to go back" says 39 years old Nazeema Abdul Raheem in the Jaffna welfare camp in Puttalam.
"I don't even know, how Jaffna looks like now. I left, when I was alittle girl. I don't want to go back to Jaffna to live, because my children were born in Puttalam. And they are used to this life style andwill not be able to adapt. On the other hand I am scared to go back" says 28 years old Matheen Matheena, who is a mother of six in Puttalam welfare camp.
